We're the proud recipients of the 2018 Prairies Region Startup Canada Innovation Award!

By Testfire Labs

On Friday, May 25th, Dave Damer, Founder & CEO of Testfire Labs, travelled to Winnipeg, MB to accept the 2018 Prairies Region Startup Canada Innovation Award for our AI assistant, The Startup Canada awards celebrate outstanding achievement in Canada’s entrepreneurial and innovation community, and Testfire Labs – alongside Poppy Barley and Jobber - proudly represented Edmonton’s growing tech community, in particular.

Dave and the team here at Testfire, were humbled to be nominated by our peers, and following a comprehensive judging of hundreds of nominations, was selected as the Innovation Award recipient.

“We’re thrilled to receive the Startup Canada Innovation Award and to share in this success with the many inspiring award winners,” said Dave. “Our team at Testfire Labs is dedicated to building tools that allow people to do more meaningful work, and this award is a validation that our hard work, experimentation, and commitment have all been worth it. We’re proud to be a part of Canada’s entrepreneurial tech ecosystem - thank you for this recognition.”

This same time last year, Dave had just founded Testfire Labs as a solo entrepreneur. Flash forward just one year, and we’re now a growing, award-winning team that’s honoured to be a part of Canada’s tech ecosystem.

As award recipients, Testfire will now join the Startup Canada Awards Alumni Network, a platform that will allow us to connect with and provide inspiration for the next generation of Canadian entrepreneurs.

“Testfire Labs is a shining example of excellence in Canadian entrepreneurship,” said Victoria Lennox CEO and Co-founder of Startup Canada. “Dave Damer, Founder & CEO of Testfire Labs, is a role model that will continue to inspire other individuals to redouble their efforts and inspire future generations in building Canada into an innovation nation.”

Every year, the Startup Canada Awards attract hundreds of nominations; celebrate more than 60 entrepreneurs, innovators, and support organizations from coast-to-coast-to-coast; and attract more than 1,500 attendees and 4,000 online viewers at regional and national ceremonies. The objectives of the Startup Canada Awards are to:

  • Celebrate those working to advance entrepreneurship in Canada;
  • Increase awareness of the importance of strengthening Canada’s entrepreneurship ecosystem and culture; and,
  • Incentivize efforts and elevate the ambitions of the Canadian entrepreneurial and innovation community.
